Ohh gots me new books, and a new lock today :) The books are of course available from Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market to order - or you can get them from bookshopdotorg and support us there too and get tjen deliver right to your door! Heres the links right to them for you! https://ift.tt/3hpB030 - Draw Breath by Tom Granger. Just a fab fun book 9n different drawing/doodling activities that are all about regulating your breathing to move into a mindful and meditative space. Just really lovely for those that might struggle with yoga or just quieting the mind without an action involved! https://ift.tt/3jx787x - With Nature in Mind by Andy McGeeney - great for Forest Church activity ideas or those wanting to do outside activities that have a mindful or positive effect to them. https://ift.tt/3AsY8Xd - Nature and Therapy by Martin Jordan - good book looking at how nature works positively for us and can be a tool for therapy and healing - includes some exercises and activities too, also a section on how, for instance a spiritual director or life coach, could perhaps move their practice from inside to outside and what they need to practically consider on all levels not least in terms of safeguarding and confidentially. The stickers were from Unicorn Tree Books and are probably going to end up decorating the work diaries as I pretend I have the Bullet Journal artistic chic thing going on - but really I still just like stickers and why should it just be a kid thing 😉 So then finally the lock is not just Sold secure Gold but sold secure Diamond which is the new highest level - also its a long lock so actually fits the bike rather than me having to loop two together - only took me over a year to finally get one! and my fave bit is the key has a little light built in so I can see the keyhole in the dark 😁 (sorry you can't see the actual lock it's on the bike already!). So yeah a good haul :) https://ift.tt/1TEBPlr https://ift.tt/3dArOrh #booksaremybag #booksbybike #books #BookshopDotOrg

Of course with a new job comes new books to read, though some of it actually works well for all the other roles too, so that's my Sunday sorted... Especially given its Church by Nature tomorrow too which will be a zoom of fresh air 😉 But I have survived my first full on 4 day week of CTAL mornings and TL-AF afternoons... A few extra meetings for other stuff involving my Cycling UK trustee role and reopening my shop in there made it more complicated than it will normally be going forwards (needed to add in some evenings for TL-AF work to hit my targets), and then of course today is LSP (as are Friday evenings and a couple of others too).... But all in all I can say I feel happy with how its gone and am looking forwards to next week which has lots of really good meetings for all the roles, and see's Unicorn Tree Books reopen on Thursday with the amazingly capable Eunice in place, and final prepping for the amazing Lincoln Street Pastors to get back out and on the streets too :) Yeah it felt full but not burdensome, complex but not chaotic, but above all it felt fulfilling and there's a lot in that that talks of answering the call. #newjob #transformlincoln #churchestogetherinalllincolnshire #faithcalled #everydayvocation #missionenabler #pioneering #freshexpression #streetpastors #books #christianbookshop #calledbutnotcollared #CTAL #TL-AF #lincoln #lincolnshire

Two very different books came across the desk of Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market this week... And I have been moved by both bevause both talked to my spirit and my soul. The Prophetic Warrior by Emma Stark was the book that held the words I needed to hear at this time and in this place... It was in itself to me like the very words of a prophet speaking personally into my life - both convicting me on one level and confirming me on another, calling me to obedience and action and restoring my soul and my faith in what I am called to be in and of myself. Its a brilliant book that is both testimony, handbook, and prayer book - and a reminder that when the God of life calls you need to listen, stand firm, have faith and reach out. Then after that 'into the tangled bankv was a beautiful book that again reminded me I'm not alone in my love for the urban and wilder nature spaces, that in those places too is blessing and healing (although it doesn't use those words) that so many of us know but perhaps wouldn't articulate, but the author has done an amazing job of articulating the small everyday ordinary and sublime encounters so many of us have with nature. Both are in stock now at Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market and I'd really appreciate it if you wanted to support this small independent bookshop by purchasing them from us - we really do need support at this time. See you all soon! At Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market we have the following candles available that we think would be perfect for lighting this Sunday - and perhaps every Sunday thereafter during this pandemic as a sign of solidarity and faith! The call states: “Whether you are continuing to worship as congregations or not, we have the great privilege and freedom to be able to call upon God, wherever we are, individually and corporately, for healing in our nation.” People are asked to light a candle in their window at 7 p.m. on Sunday “as a visible symbol of the light of life, Jesus Christ”. The call has been issued by the presidents of the ecumenical grouping Churches Together in England and is also supported by Churches Together in Britain and Ireland, Cytûn, the Church of Scotland, and the Evangelical Alliance. As well as calling for prayer for the Government and those working to contain the virus, such as health-care workers, and those who are most vulnerable, the statement lists some actions that Christians might take: “Alongside your prayers, take the opportunity to telephone or email someone who is isolated, buy some additional food for your local foodbank, or offer to deliver shopping for an elderly neighbour.” We re open as usual, but If you live locally we can deliver them to you if you are self isolating, just phone, email, facebook or tweet us to arrange this. https://ift.tt/1TEBPlr unicorntreebooks@aol.com 01522 525557 Www.twitter.com/unicorntreebks #books #book #indiebookshop #christianbooks #christianbookshop #faith #lightacandle #candles #prayer

This week's Bookshop Boss recommendations from Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market... 'Time to Act' from Christian Climate Action arrived into the shop yesterday and we are now done to only one copy left in stock... Its a resource book with a series of chapters from a range of different people, and though it's main appeal is to those involved with XR & other Climate Change groups its also well worth reading at church or individual level for consideration on a response and actions to take for change. Then new in the Holy Habits series is 'Serving' both the individual biblical reflections book and the group studies material... Like the others in the series this is excellent material that really helps you explore deeper what 'Serving' really means in a Christian context and in our everyday lives. Cathy Madavan's 'Irrepressible' is a really good book on the concept of Resilience, what it is and how to have it! Easy to read and with some great insightful question at the end of each chapter - that though for Individuals could with a bit of tweaking make for an incredible group study too. Finally Ken Costa's 'Joseph of Arimathea' is a beautiful hardback with an interior that has bright yellow splashes throughout, a bit like the bright moments of courage when we take a stand... Of which this book actually talks about quite a lot... Because of its production values this one would make an incredible gift I think. Of course there are a lot more books than these that arrived in this week... And also we had Palm Crosses and more Easter Cards & books in too, so it would be great to see some of you come in and pick up some great resources ;) Remember without you there is no us, so we love it when you do come in and support your local bookshop like us here at Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market. https://ift.tt/1TEBPlr #books #book #indiebookshop #christianbooks #christianbookshop #spirituality #church #brf #spck #xr #climatechange #resilience #biblecharacters #authors #reviews #lincoln #Lincolnshire #market

Some Wow books in stock now at Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market... First up the newest from local author, Margaret Dickinson! The Spitfire Sisters is the third book in the Maitland Trilogy and is as ever a great read. Then a special counter offer while stocks last! False Tongues by Kate Ellis is only £4.99 and is a brilliant read with her usual blend of mystery, Church politics, and insightful relationship explorations. Finally the most wonderful children's book that this Forest Church Leading adult is totally in love with! Happy - A Children's Book of Mindfulness by Nicola Edwards & Kate Hickey is beautiful, just beautiful and explains mindfulness (and the core of Forest Church too if you ask me!) simply, elegantly and experientially. Honestly this book isn't just for children despite what the cover says, just reading it feels like a journey into mindfulness as well as into the great outdoors where nature speaks and embrace us! So come and visit us at Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market to pick up these great books - and the many more in the shop like them. https://ift.tt/1TEBPlr #books #book #indiebookshop #generalbooks #childrensbooks #childrensactivities #thrillers #authors #lincoln #Lincolnshire #localbookshop #littletiger #pan #spck #margaretdickinson #nicolaedwards #katecharles

Just a few of my favourite #Lent & Easter Books in stock at Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market right now... I cannot tell you how beautiful and heartbreaking Wild Hope is as it takes us through Lent on journeys with the amazing animals and Wildlife that are endangered in our world - it is designed for Lent but these stories are for everyday and would work in a multitude of situations! Then Margaret Silf's 'Soul Journey' is a 40 day journey into the spiritual journey and being the best we can be... Another one that is at home out of Lent as guiding us through it. Next is the superb 'Sacred Space for Lent 2020' - a wonderful work for the young, older, and those with less time as each day has an insightful, engaging, short yet indepth reading and consideration. Finally a colouring book from the Lindisfarne Scriptorium for those that find art a foci for their prayer life. (Just to say there are lovely Lent & Easter activity books & pocket prayer cards from them too!). Like I say this is just a few of my personal favourites, but there are so many others too like 'Saying yes to lofe' or the #livelifelivelent material... Come in to Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market and see what speaks to your soul to journey with through Lent. Also just to say we also have Easter Cards in stock as well as Paschal Candles and Palm Crosses!
