Two very different books came across the desk of Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market this week... And I have been moved by both bevause both talked to my spirit and my soul. The Prophetic Warrior by Emma Stark was the book that held the words I needed to hear at this time and in this place... It was in itself to me like the very words of a prophet speaking personally into my life - both convicting me on one level and confirming me on another, calling me to obedience and action and restoring my soul and my faith in what I am called to be in and of myself. Its a brilliant book that is both testimony, handbook, and prayer book - and a reminder that when the God of life calls you need to listen, stand firm, have faith and reach out. Then after that 'into the tangled bankv was a beautiful book that again reminded me I'm not alone in my love for the urban and wilder nature spaces, that in those places too is blessing and healing (although it doesn't use those words) that so many of us know but perhaps wouldn't articulate, but the author has done an amazing job of articulating the small everyday ordinary and sublime encounters so many of us have with nature. Just to be clear... If there is a perspex screen between you and the shop worker then they don't need to be wearing a face covering, but they do if they are out on the shop floor, so if we are sat at the counter at Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market we do not have to wear our face covering but we will put it on the minute we come out to serve you. Please be kind to each other people - it's a stressful time for everyone. Ps.. If you don't want me or any other person working in a shop or venue to ask you to put a face covering on then please do wear a sunflower lanyard, pin, or have some sort of exemption signifier we can see - we now are legally required to inform you you must wear a face covering over your mouth AND nose in our premises, and we are not mind readers and many people just aren't wearing them, so do yourself and us a favour please in this way.

So due to Coronavirus lock down and a landlord that wouldn't negotiate when asked we had to make a decision to either close or sharing... We chose shrinking but we think it worked well, very little loss of stock due to clever design and making use of every available inch 😉 Come visit us and see for yourselves! Ps watch without sound as it was closing time and the cafe was descaling and hoovering and it sounds much louder than it was!

Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market Celebrated its 14th Birthday on Sunday 16th August... We are glad to still be trading despite all the changes and upheavals there's been in the boktrade and the country during those years... its a very different economy than it was then, and books have in some ways changed too in that time - so have we of course. With this newest change due to Coronavirus we are sadly having to downsize and become half the Bookshop we were in order to pay our rent - well in space terms that is, in terms of stock, heart, breadth and passion we remain much bigger than than we may initially look! - and so we'd really like you to come in and support us as without you there's no way we can make it to our 15th Year of serving Lincoln - and we'd really like to do that! We currently have a fantastic 3 for 2 Sale on shelf stock (excluding secondhand fiction and gift cards), and we have CD's at 10 for £10, DVD's at 3 for £5, and an amazing array of fiction marked with a purple x at 10 for £3.50! So Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market is having to reduce from 4 to 2 units... It's sad but its the only way we can keep going due to the Coronavirus Downturn at this present time - and we really want to keep serving our City and Community. So this Friday & Saturday everything (except secondhand fiction & gift cards) is on 3 for 2!
